5 UDS humanitarian demining groups received new leaders today!

Each of the group leaders has many years of experience in various fields, but they are all united by a common desire – to clear the lands of the explosive dirt of war

Briefly about the group leaders:

Andrii Zadorozhnyi is the head of the mechanized demining group No. 1.

Andrii graduated from the Cherkasy Institute of Fire Safety named after the Heroes of Chernobyl, where he received a degree in fire safety. From 2008-2010, he worked as the head of the Karul in the State Emergency Service. After that, for 6 years he worked as a fire inspector and held senior positions in the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in the Zaporozhye region. Then he worked as a technical director in a private network company, and from 2021 to 2024 as a regional manager for the installation of security systems and their maintenance in a private company.In May 2024, he joined the UDS team, where in a few months he learned sapper work at the Interregional Center for Humanitarian Demining and Rapid Response of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Kamianets-Podilskyi.

Ihor Gushel is the head of the mechanized demining group No. 2.

He studied at the Humanitarian Demining Training Center and received the profession "Sapper (demining) level II".For the last 10 years, he has been a foreman for international bus transportation. During russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine, he joined the Territorial Defense Forces and was a machine gunner in mobile fire groups. He came to the field of humanitarian demining with the desire to contribute to the country in such a difficult time, because after the liberation of the lands, the territories remained life-threatening. He joined the UDS team, successfully completed demining courses and is currently clearing Ukrainian lands of ammunition and mines together with other UDS groups.

Mykola Florko is the head of the mechanized demining group No. 3.

Father of many children. Veteran of the civil defense service. He served in the State Emergency Service for almost 27 years. He completed his service as the head of the department of scientific and editorial work of the LSU BZhD of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.Mykola devoted his whole life to saving people and even after retirement he does not cease to benefit society. He

successfully completed training in Kamianets-Podilskyi at the Interregional Center for Humanitarian Demining and Rapid Response of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and received a sapper certificate. The other day I received a certificate for conducting a non-technical survey.

Valerii Yakhno is the head of the mechanized demining group No. 4.

A former policeman, he worked in the State Security Service. Later, he moved to the security structure, where he worked for more than 5 years in various positions: from an ordinary patrolman to a senior officer. With many years of experience in law enforcement, Valeriy decided to devote himself to the important task of clearing the Ukrainian land of the dirt of war. In 2023, he received a sapper certificate from the Interregional Center for Humanitarian Demining and Rapid Response of the State Emergency Service.

Artem Duduliak – Head of Mechanized Demining Group No. 5.

He is a lawyer by profession. Prior to UDS, he was engaged in humanitarian demining for about two years. In 2023, he joined the UDS team and during this period cleared more than one hectare of Ukrainian land. He was trained at the Interregional Center for Humanitarian Demining and Rapid Response of the State Emergency Service and has a "sapper" certificate.

"Humanitarian demining teams were tasked with developing a demining technology that would guarantee results of at least 2 hectares per day, while maintaining a high degree of safety and quality," said Eduard Drach, Technical Director of UDS.
