450 Mine simulators destroyed and resistance to TM-62M: A batch of Germina Machines passes state certification
The State Research Institute for Testing and Certification of Weapons and Military Equipment of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has issued a certificate of conformity for a batch of 20 remotely controlled GERMINA URCM 3000 demining machines manufactured by KZVV.
During the certification tests, the equipment demonstrated full compliance with the international Test & Evaluation Protocol (Version 1.0 “Machines”).
“We have once again confirmed the declared technical and performance characteristics of the machine, above all, its combination of high productivity with exceptional system survivability during detonations. During the tests, the machine successfully cleared 450 mine simulators — 225 anti-personnel and 225 anti-vehicle — placed at different depths in three types of soil: earth, gravel, and sand. In addition, after driving over and detonating a live TM-62M mine, the machine sustained only minor cosmetic damage, successfully completed the test area, and demonstrated full operational capability,” said Oleksii Voitsekhovskyi, UDS Specialist in Experimental Operation of Machines and Mechanisms.
The assessment confirmed the machine’s ability to:
- clear anti-personnel and anti-tank mines installed in soil at depths of up to 10 cm, and in rocky (gravel) and sandy soil at depths of up to 32 cm;
- clear low, medium, and high vegetation;
- withstand the detonation of a TM-62M anti-vehicle mine and an anti-personnel mine analogue containing 240 g of TNT equivalent.
Successful certification is official confirmation that the equipment is ready for reliable and safe operation in the most challenging field conditions.
It should be noted that UDS actively participates in the development and improvement of the Germina machine and provides field testing and operational trials of the equipment. Currently, these machines are deployed in land clearance operations in Kharkiv, Kherson, and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
