12 UDS sappers were trained to fly drones

The use of UAVs in humanitarian demining is becoming an increasingly established practice. Each UDS demining team must include a drone operator.

Our sappers have undergone professional training at the Dronarium Ukraine Academy. This is the first training center for drone pilots in Ukraine, where graduates receive:

✅ practical experience in controlling UAVs in a wide variety of conditions;

✅ in-depth study of aviation law, Ukrainian legislation, and international law in the field of UAVs.

The process of humanitarian demining is complex and multi-layered. The first thing that happens is a non-technical survey. One of the key stages of NTM is aerial reconnaissance of territories.

By the SOP, deminers of non-technical survey groups do not enter the survey areas, because they can be contaminated and dangerous.

To see the full picture, we use Mavic 3 drones.

In general, during the work of UDS specialists at the sites, "birds" are involved in:

✅ NTS — survey of potentially polluted areas, including water bodies of water;

✅ mapping and marking of areas contaminated with explosives;

✅ ensuring the safety of work during mechanized demining.

Without exaggeration, UAVs are our eyes.
