UDS joined the UN Global Compact initiative to develop an ESG course for Ukrainian businesses
The goal of the initiative is to make ESG knowledge accessible to everyone—from small and medium-sized enterprises to large corporations, from companies just starting out to those already experienced in sustainability reporting.
In 2025 the course will focus on the Environmental (E) pillar. Five facilitated sessions are planned, each covering key aspects of integrating the environmental dimension of sustainable development into everyday business practice.
At the course kick-off, Tetiana Sakharuk, CEO of the UN Global Compact in Ukraine and Chair of the Regional Networks Council for Eastern Europe and Central Asia, emphasized:
“Ukraine’s future depends not only on investment, but on the people who will rebuild it. Education is the cornerstone of human potential. We are uniting to create an ESG culture in Ukrainian business and to train the specialists our country needs.”
📄 As part of the working group, UDS also signed the Declaration on Climate Responsibility and Environmental Impact.
💬 “This document is a symbolic confirmation of UDS’s commitment and active stance in implementing sustainable practices. Only through sustainable development and a robust environmental management system can we ensure long-term prosperity for both business and society,” said Volodymyr Beshlei, Deputy General Director of UDS.
UDS joined the UN Global Compact in Ukraine in 2024.
The UN Global Compact in Ukraine is the local network of the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative, calling on companies to align their operations with the Sustainable Development Goals and the Ten Principles on human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption.
